Heart disease also known as cardiac disease is basically a term that refers for any type of disorder that affects the heart. Cardiovascular disease refers to disorders of the blood vessels and heart. While cardiac disease only refers to disorders of just the heart. It is basically the result of the narrowing or blockage of the arteries, the blood vessels that supply the heart with blood, oxygen, and nutrients. This is called as coronary artery disease or coronary heart disease which happens slowly over time and is the main reason why people have heart attacks.
Other diseases might happen because the heart might not pump well, or because of the valves in the heart which can even cause heart failure.

Heart disease nowadays may be a leading cause of death, but that doesn’t means that we need to accept it as fate. It is a major cause of disability. Some risk factors such as family history, age, gender also have a big impact about having this disease. Smoking, Drinking Alcohol, taking unhealthy food items, not having enough sleep and not visiting your doctor on a regular checkup basis may lead to have heart disease.
The risk of heart disease increases as a person age. For a male it increases over age 45 and for a female it increases over age 55. However, someone can also have this disease if they have a close family member who had this disease at an early age. Even some people are born with a heart disease because of their family history.
There are some key heart disease prevention steps that you can take.

By adopting a healthy life style today you can avoid heart problems in the future.
If you follow some tips today you can prevent yourself from getting a heart disease in the future.

  • Say NO to smoking.
    Smoking increases your risk for heart disease.
    It is advisable that do not smoke. It is not a good thing.
    If someone smokes, quit it. It will lower your risk for heart disease.

  • Do NOT drink.
    Avoid Drinking Alcohol as it is not good for health. It causes High Blood Pressure which leads to a heart disease and can damage your artery walls.

  • Exercise on a regular basis.
    Exercise daily. Physical activity helps you maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight can increase the risk of getting heart disease.

  • Eat healthy food items.
    Eating healthy food items can help you avoid heart disease and its complications. So be sure to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • Check your Blood Pressure, keep it under control.
    Blood pressure is the force that your blood makes against your artery walls.
    If this pressure is too high, it can damage your artery walls.
    To lower your risk of a heart disease your blood pressure level should be 120/80.

  • Check if you have Diabetes, keep it under control.
    Diabetes is a disease in which your glucose level is very high. Diabetes has 2 types.
    Type 2 is the most common type these days which usually begins at the age of 40.
    If your level of diabetes is too high, it can damage your artery walls. Usually this risk in more in women than in men.

  • Learn how to manage stress.
    Research shows that getting angry over something or getting upset can lead you to a heart attack. So just keep calm no matter how harsh the situation is.

  • Get enough Quality sleep.
    People who don’t get enough sleep have a higher risk of obesity, high blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes and depression. You should take 7-9 hours sleep every night.

  • Lower your Cholesterol.
    Once every 5 years get your Cholesterol level checked.
    High levels of Cholesterol can lead to a heart disease. Your Cholesterol level should be 200mg/dL.

Obesity can be avoided in adults and children by a good healthy diet with low calorie food and regular exercise. The parents should work hard in making their children active. This would help the child to be physically and mentally fit and regulate blood circulation. Due to obesity children face a lot of social problems.
